$30 Million for literacy screening for students in K to Grade 3. Will this really help all students with dyslexia?

We had a great turn out in front of the BC Legislature on October 3, 2023. Lots of supporters of various ages; and lots of Members of the Legislative Assembly!
One of Dyslexia BCs goals is to increase Dyslexia Awareness in the Community. Frequently we are in the media.
This April, Dyslexia BC will be hosting two in-person sessions in Kamloops and Kelowna focused on dyslexia awareness, advocacy, and evidence-based supports for students.
Participants will experience the “Dyslexia for a Day” interactive simulation, designed by the Dyslexia Training Institute, which provides a powerful perspective on the challenges many students with dyslexia face when reading and writing.
We will also discuss:
• What dyslexia is - and what it is not
• Screening and assessment advocacy in BC
• Effective accommodations and supports
• How educators and families can work together to support students
📍 Kamloops - April 14
📍 Kelowna - April 28
Parents, educators, and community members are welcome to attend. Registration is required.
